JONAH COX CALLED UP BY GIANTS
On Sunday morning, '22 Express alum was called up by the San Francisco Giants. An All Star in the Valley Baseball League, Jonah hit .290 with 30 stolen bases, 26 runs scored, and 15 RBI for Strasburg. But his story was just getting started.
Jonah transferred from Eastern Oklahoma State College to Oral Roberts for the 2023 season. At ORU he proceeded to bat .412 with 11 home runs and 68 RBI, fueling their memorable ride to Omaha for the College World Series. During that time he managed to hit in 47-consecutive games, the 3rd longest streak in NCAA history.
Because of his efforts, Jonah was drafted in the 6th round by the Oakland Athletics in 2023 and was later traded to the Giants in 2024. Making his debut tonight vs the Rockies in his home state of Colorado, Jonah recorded his first MLB hit - a double in the 9th inning.
Congrats
@JonahCox02!!
