Governor Mutfwang Charges Acting Grand Kadi on Integrity, Assures Judiciary of Continued Support
The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Manasseh Caleb Mutfwang, has charged the newly sworn-in Acting Grand Kadi of Plateau State, Hon. Justice Tijani Jibrin Zololo, to discharge his duties with the highest sense of integrity, fairness, and honesty, describing the oath of office as a solemn responsibility.
The Governor gave the charge on Monday, 19 January 2026, during the swearing-in ceremony held at the Government House, Jos. He noted that the occasion marked a significant milestone in strengthening and repositioning the Judiciary to effectively carry out its constitutional responsibilities.
Governor Mutfwang congratulated Hon. Justice Tijani Jibrin Zololo on his appointment and wished him a successful and impactful tenure. He assured the Judiciary of the State Government’s continued support, emphasizing that all matters concerning the Judiciary would always receive due attention.
The Governor also apologized for his absence at the earlier scheduled ceremony on Friday, 16 January 2026, and expressed appreciation to retired Judges for their years of dedicated service, while wishing all present a prosperous New Year.
The swearing-in ceremony attracted a large gathering of government officials, judicial officers, traditional rulers, and other dignitaries.
Those in attendance included the Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Hon. Josephine Piyo; the Chief Judge of Plateau State, Hon. Justice D. G. Mann; the President of the Plateau State Customary Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Blessing Lyop Dalyop; and the Grand Kadi of the Niger State Sharia Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Abubakar Musa Kigera.
Others present were the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Plateau State Chapter, Hon. Rufus Bature; the Acting Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Samuel Nanchang Latur; the Head of the Civil Service, Mr. Stephen Gadong; the Honourable Commissioner for Justice; and members of the Plateau State Executive Council.
Also in attendance was the representative of the Gbong Gwom Jos and other members of the Plateau State Traditional Council, Chairmen of Local Government Councils, Special Advisers, Superior Court Judges, Permanent Secretaries, members of the Judicial Service Commission, former Chief Judges, former Acting Grand Kadis, former Presidents of the Customary Court of Appeal, members of the Nigerian Bar Association, Management Teams of the Plateau State High Court of Justice, the Sharia Court of Appeal, Magistrates, Area Court Judges of the Judiciary, and other distinguished guests.
