The Government of Puerto Rico alongside our federal partners @FEMA briefed a Congressional delegation of the House Homeland Security Committee, including Ranking Member Bennie Thompson, Rep. Nellie Pou, Rep. Al Green, and Resident Commissioner Pablo José Hernández, on disaster preparedness and progress on recovery efforts. We also conducted a site visit of the Caribbean Distribution Center. WATCH: Nighttime Interdiction Takes Down 3 Dominican Republic Nationals! On June 9, at approximately 11:00 PM local time, a Caribbean Air and Marine Branch Multi-Role Enforcement Aircraft detected a Target of Interest—a 19-foot Yola-type vessel with one outboard engine, three people onboard, and no navigation lights—about 29 nautical miles north of Arecibo, Puerto Rico. The suspicious vessel was tracked and monitored through coordinated air and marine surveillance, with a NASOC DHC-8 aircrew also providing coverage surveillance. The San Juan Marine Unit launched a Coastal Interceptor Vessel to intercept, guided by real-time updates from the Caribbean Air and Marine Operations Center. After persistent tracking, Marine Interdiction Agents intercepted the vessel north of Camuy, Puerto Rico. Three Dominican Republic nationals and electronic devices were seized and transferred to the Homeland Security Task Force for further processing. This operation underscores the vigilance and teamwork of our air and marine units in protecting our maritime borders! #BorderSecurity

The operation of the power generation infrastructure is a priority for our Administration led by Governor @Jenniffer González Colón. For this reason, this afternoon the Energy Czar and Executive Director of the Public-Private Partnerships Authority, Josué A. Colón Ortiz, P.E., along with the Governor and the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Electricity of the U.S. Department of Energy, Catherine 'Katie' Jereza, inspected the operation of Unit #7 at the San Juan Power Plant. As part of the visit, officials from the plant’s operator, @Genera_PR, provided an update on the work carried out at the facility. Also participating in the tour were the Regional Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, Mike Martucci; the Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration, Gabriella Boffelli; and the Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority, Engineer Mary Carmen Zapata.
