Haryana enacted a law to ensure respectable disposal of dead bodies, including prohibition on the use of dead bodies for protests. Assam passed a Bill banning polygamy for all communities, except Scheduled Tribes and residents of Autonomous District areas.

In 2025, 127 ordinances were issued, an increase from the 100 issued in 2024. Compared to 2024, Karnataka and Meghalaya recorded an increase in the number of ordinances issued, while Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra recorded a decline. A majority were on local governance.
