Tomorrow, on Saturday, March 21, Scenic Drive Loop past Parking Lot C in Prince William Forest Park will be closed to vehicles for the Marine Corps 17.75K race from 7:30am to around 11:30am for the safety of runners.

On Monday, April 22, 2024, part of Prince William Forest Park will be completely closed to the public from 6:00am through around 3:30pm, including Pine Grove Picnic Area, Park Entrance Road, Visitor Center, Camp 3, and nearby trails. Visit nps.gov/prwi/learn/managemen… for more details

Starting August 21, Turkey Run Ridge Group Campground as well as the orienteering course will be closed for infrastructure repairs. The Turkey Run parking area as well as the hiking trails will remain open. For your safety, please do not enter the fenced off construction area.

UPDATE 4/19/2023: Campfires and charcoal fires are once again allowed in designated campfire grills in Prince William Forest Park, however please use caution as fire danger is still high in the forest.

Due to the National Weather Service Red Flag Warning today, 4/18/2023, Prince William Forest Park has banned campfires and charcoal fires in the park until 8pm or the Red Flag Warning expires. Visitors may continue to use camp stoves and propane grills for cooking.

It's that time of year again! With the clock springing forward tomorrow for daylight savings time, the visitor center hours will also change. The visitor center will now be open from 9:00am to 5:00pm every day of the week (Monday-Sunday).

Please use caution when driving along the Scenic Drive from December 12 to sometime in January as a project to place new timber guard rails will close one lane of the road in the area just south of the Turkey Run Road where Scenic Drive meets itself.

Come check out Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Living History Days at the park! From 9am to 5pm on Saturday, October 22 and Sunday, October 23, watch living history reenactors model a day in the life of a CCC worker in the 1930s at Cabin Camp 3.
