As a child, Colin Howe always loved the ocean and felt at home by the water. 🌊 It was his upbringing and desire to protect marine ecosystems that led him to pursue marine science. Currently, Howe is working on his doctoral degree at Penn State.

In a new study led by Gui Becker, associate professor of biology, the team found that amphibians in connected natural forests and aquatic habitats were more likely to host beneficial skin microbes that inhibit a deadly fungal pathogen.
