“The People Did Not Ask for This Bill" - Hon. Karenyi Kore Rejects CAB 3 in Parliament Hon. Karenyi Kore's contribution to the parliamentary debate on Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 (CAB 3). During the debate, Hon. Karenyi argued that the people of Zimbabwe did not ask for the Bill and called for it to be subjected to a referendum. She also raised concerns about electoral reforms, political violence, corruption, and the need for an electoral system that citizens can trust. "The people did not ask for this Bill. CAB 3 does not create a single job and should be subjected to a referendum to avoid a conflict of interest. We want an electoral system citizens can trust. People want opportunities, not an extension of political power. The problem is not the Constitution; it is political violence and corruption. The voice of the people must remain the voice of our democracy. I stand with unemployed youth, farmers, vendors, workers, mothers and pensioners." — Hon. Karenyi Kore during debate on Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3.

Brilliant submissions by Hon Karenyi.👏👏👏👏
CAB3 creates no jobs, lowers no prices, and puts no food on the table. Zimbabweans deserve leaders focused on their daily realities, not political power arrangements. Zimbabwe’s challenge is not a constitutional crisis it is a governance crisis. That is why l opposed the bill.

🚩🚩Ask yourself these questions: 1⃣Why do these people want two more years? 2⃣Why are they investing in bribing people to say yes to an unconstitutional bill? Listen to what the DCP Convenor, @JamesonTimba, said! Zimbabweans have been speaking with one voice: we do not want the Constitutional Amendment Bill No.3, as it does not address the current crisis we are facing as a nation. Say NO to the continuation of economic hardships, corruption, collapsing public services, state capture, and low wages by saying #2030Musipo! They know a referendum is not something they can easily manipulate, as they cannot buy everyone to vote yes for their unconstitutional bill. #RejectCAB3

At 81, Webster Shamu is shamelessly mutilating the constitution to chase a 2030 term extension so he can drool in a parliamentary seat at 85. While progressive age-mates retired long ago, this exhausted octogenarian is clinging to power like a tick. Turning Parliament into a glorified nursing home just to satisfy toxic, archaic greed is absolute madness. #ZanuPFMustGo

Because ZANU-PF irikuda kudira jecha musadza, they must be prepared to face the consequences of spoiling something of national interest. You cannot intentionally sabotage the country's democratic progress and expect citizens to just look on. @ZANUPF_Official ,every single one of you must prepare yourselves, because the consequences of this latest betrayal are going to be severe. We are coming for what is ours!!! #NoToCAB3

🚩🚩 The people of Zimbabwe are clear: they do not want Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3! Listen to Hon. @chigumbu_ sharing the voice of the people in parliament. The elites are busy claiming that things are well in the country because they cannot relate to the realities lived in the ghettos. Let history remember the leaders who genuinely represented the voices of the people who elected them. #NoToCAB3 #2030Musipo

Have you ever wondered why many African presidents enjoy associating themselves with President Mnangagwa? His ability to outsmart his rivals is a quality that every wise person should be eager to learn from. If you do not learn from the wise, foolishness will eventually consume you. He is a political mastermind. Until you appreciate that, muchagara muchidyiwa netsanangudzo.

I couldn't get the chance to debate #CAB3 again today but look Clause 21 seeks to repeal sect 281 (2) on Traditional leaders. Section 281(2) of our constitution was not written by accident. It was written to protect the dignity of traditional leadership. It says chiefs must not be members of political parties or act in a partisan manner. Why? Because once a chief wears party colours, he ceases to be a father of the whole community and becomes a factional leader. Hazvibude .
