#DYK what makes a “special session” special? Special sessions can only be called by the governor. Or the General Assembly can petition the governor to call a special session when urgent issues arise that cannot wait for the regular legislative calendar.

Today is National School Principals’ Day. #DYK that former State Senator Charles F. Dougherty (1973-1980) was a school principal? Dougherty was a high school principal from 1970 to 1972, he was elected to the state senate in 1972, the last year of being a principal.
