The Lebanese Resistance Movement released footage of a targeted drone operation in southern Lebanon on Saturday, June 6, 2026. The footage documents how an Ababil kamikaze drone (so-called loitering glides with First-Person View) tracks and hits an Israeli Merkava tank. The operation was carried out at exactly 07:30 local time at the newly established military outpost and artillery base in Balat (Blat). The video shows camera footage from the drone itself locking onto the vehicle in the final seconds leading up to a confirmed direct hit on the tank’s upper armour. Military analysts point out that the use of these low-flying, fiber-optically guided FPV drones has increased sharply in the area to knock out heavy armoured vehicles and round up Israeli electronic jamming systems.

Lebanese Resistance Releases Video of Drone Attack on Israeli Tank The Lebanese Resistance's military media outlets have released a video clip purportedly showing a targeted attack on an Israeli Merkava tank. According to the group's official statement, the incident took place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, near the historic Beaufort Castle (Qal'at al-Shaqif) in southern Lebanon. The attack was allegedly carried out using a so-called Ababil drone, a type of remotely controlled kamikaze drone. The video footage, which has also been disseminated by regional news channels such as Al-Mayadeen, shows footage taken directly from the drone's built-in camera up until the moment it crashes into its target. The Lebanese Resistance said in a statement that the operation was carried out in response to what they described as Israeli violations of the current ceasefire and repeated attacks on southern Lebanese villages.
