Kpop has consistently and so casually engaged in the use of anti-black slurs, that I really don't put it down to ignorance any more.
At this point, Kpop is global enough that they have all the resources in the world to learn.
This is intentional.

A reminder that bigotry often does not stand alone; ableism, racism and xenophobia frequently intersect.

I feel like many of the accounts that I see posting 2000's anime are just rage-baiting.
Because they'll see something like, ".hack//Sign is peak! They don't make them like this anymore! Could not be made in 2026!"
And you just know .hack//Sign wasn't even that good bro.

There's a term for this: "activity-based identities."
Stans are people who have made a specific activity their identity.
So if you point out anything wrong with the activity--be it a Kpop group, an anime, a video game, etc.?
Stans will see it as an attack on their identity.
I don’t get why people feel that if you’re a fan of someone or something, that you have to defend everything that they do. I think spectrum of fandom has shifted so much because stans are so insane now that regular fans behave like how stans in the past would.

I previewed House of Hikmah, a puzzle platformer inspired by the Islamic Golden Age. We simply don't see this setting enough in games & I'm loving it. Sands of Time vibes?

Dropped #WhenLifeGivesYouTangerines after Ep4.
Could not connect with leads' feeling for each other. Their "love" was just posed as a given since the beginning--nothing I saw developed or earned it for me.
And that's not an emotion I can connect with in this stage of life.

I am not going to quote it, but anyone who tries to discredit Final Fantasy by comparing it to ANY other RPG is 100% not a gamer.

Watched #TraumaCode. Solid, if unremarkable, drama.
JUST fast-paced enough, JUST short enough & JUST exciting enough to make you forget its characters have no substance.
No depth beyond "oh, the doctors care; nice."
Also, a merc that's a good human? Gimme a break, Deadpool.

I regularly rewatch Man From Nowhere. Or at least I used to.
Against my better judgment, I tried to rewatch it.
Watching a kid Kim Sae Ron--hugging an elder that she trusted--absolutely broke me.
I don't think I'll be rewatching it anymore.
