Activist Ahmed Douma was granted presidential pardon on Saturday morning after 10 years in prison, along with others who were previously handed final sentences, according to Presidential Pardons Committee member Tarek al-Khouly.
Douma was first arrested in 2013 before being sentenced to 15 years in prison and fined LE6 million in the 2019 Cabinet clashes case.
The State Security Prosecution issued another release order yesterday, Friday, for 30 individuals who have been held in remand detention since 2022, according to human rights lawyer Khaled Ali.
