Also as part of our @LeedsWellSchool Connect challenge, our playtime leaders led 7 different challenges - skipping, basketball, target throw, ring toss, golf, bowling and badminton!

For our @LeedsWellSchool Connect Challenge our pupils took part in various activities today which promoted physical activity and friendship in memory of #RobBurrow. Our Park Run Club aimed to run 7 laps each wearing #LeedsRhinos club colours.

Year 1 had a visit from Florence Nightingale this afternoon. They learnt all about the conditions in the hospitals and how these changed. They also had a go at looking after a wounded soldier.

We began at @Parkside1900, where the children were in the middle of a whole week of exciting activites to celebrate World Book Day! As you may be able to tell, today children (and staff) were dressed as characters from mystery, adventure, comedy and fantasy novels.

Our Junior Health and Safety team have met for the first time today to do their first inspection. They were required to apply for the role, explaining the skills they could bring.

Year 1 had a special visitor this morning to support their work on fables. Unfortunately, hare wasn’t available (or maybe he’s asleep under a tree and tortoise just got here first). Thanks to Seb for bringing in his family pet.

We were excited to launch our @OwlcotesMAT Literature Festival in assembly this morning. The focus is ‘fables’ and the children enjoyed watching teachers act one out before having a go at one themselves!
