Lots of folks in paleontology & archaeology consider, research & have published on preservation bias in the geological record. There'a a whole field associated with this issue that researchers consider when studying archaeological & paleontological sites. Google taphonomy.

Comprehensively discussing data & analyses issues & citing refs in short form is very time consuming.
When I've tried in the past I mostly get trollish responses like this, so why bother? Feels more productive to me to stick to local public ed/service opportunities. 🤷♀️

Who are the "too many people treat the mainstream narrative as if it’s finished and untouchable." It's not scientists & folks willing to talk/listen to scientists in your comments. They repeatedly explain how hypotheses/ideas change due to use of the scientific method.

We found the "spring" outflow area for our shallow yard reservoir while planting a native plant patch ~ 5 years ago. It's recently rained quite a bit & hubs is expanding the patch w/more native plants. Current example of our backyard hydrology exploration/mapping technique. 🤣

Still no power. Had to bail the sump at 4am and 9 am. Hubs and I have been joking that when the zombie apocalypse happens and infrastructure goes down - at least we have a very productive hybrid cistern/well in the basement. 🤣

Efflourescence (soluable salt weathering deposits) are extremely common in natural geological units/settings, esp. in clastic rocks like sandstones in low humidity environments. Classic example from Zion National Park.

The megaliths of the #Qorikancha temple in #Cusco #Peru have big #efflorescence deposits across their exterior surfaces.
Efflorescence is a natural behavior of concrete.

Its interesting how alt history people call basic referencing 'appeals to authority' but then appeal to authority when it comes to Bondi's claims and Dunn's measurements... suddenly we just have to trust what they say and not assess the quality of their work.

Two days later, I can't believe the over-easy egg hasn't been chomped by one of the neighborhood domestic or wild critters.
