A hill I will die on - cats sleeping with their paws over their faces is the cutest thing in the world. Here's Alice Cooper for y'all, just in case anyone needed this kind of content today. ;) #CatsOfTwitter #CatsOfTheQuarantine

When you're apparently unaware an entire field that studies the thing you very confidently claim "no one considers seriously". 😬
Replying to @MichaelButtonX
Lots of folks in paleontology & archaeology consider, research & have published on preservation bias in the geological record. There'a a whole field associated with this issue that researchers consider when studying archaeological & paleontological sites. Google taphonomy.

Sorry to spoil everyone else’s day/evening but verbal abuse and slander need to be called out.

Comprehensively discussing data & analyses issues & citing refs in short form is very time consuming. When I've tried in the past I mostly get trollish responses like this, so why bother? Feels more productive to me to stick to local public ed/service opportunities. 🤷‍♀️

Perhaps "the problem" is the perpetuation of a false-narrative by people on social media to gain clicks/likes/monetization?
Replying to @4gottnHistory
Who are the "too many people treat the mainstream narrative as if it’s finished and untouchable." It's not scientists & folks willing to talk/listen to scientists in your comments. They repeatedly explain how hypotheses/ideas change due to use of the scientific method.

By the way, a clade of dinosaurs still exist! We typically call these critters birds. Don't believe me...do your research. 😉

We found the "spring" outflow area for our shallow yard reservoir while planting a native plant patch ~ 5 years ago. It's recently rained quite a bit & hubs is expanding the patch w/more native plants. Current example of our backyard hydrology exploration/mapping technique. 🤣
Still no power. Had to bail the sump at 4am and 9 am. Hubs and I have been joking that when the zombie apocalypse happens and infrastructure goes down - at least we have a very productive hybrid cistern/well in the basement. 🤣

Efflourescence (soluable salt weathering deposits) are extremely common in natural geological units/settings, esp. in clastic rocks like sandstones in low humidity environments. Classic example from Zion National Park. (Photo credit: my Dad). Thread:x.com/SoilManDan/status/2058…
The megaliths of the #Qorikancha temple in #Cusco #Peru have big #efflorescence deposits across their exterior surfaces. Efflorescence is a natural behavior of concrete. I explain these deposits as evidence of #Geopolymer concrete in my latest report on Academia.edu

This AI video is hilariously bad. Check out the circled guy on the left - his rope isn't even attached to the upright. The rope disappears, then it looks attached to the dude next to him. He's thrashing around like a maniac doing heavy rope exercises. 🤣 x.com/drleeclare/status/2057…
Here’s what they don’t tell you: Göbekli Tepe was built after the Younger Dryas collapse by the survivors as a knowledge capsule about timekeeping, religion, and the cyclical event. Since then, civilization has been reset six times, three of which were more devastating because they included geomagnetic excursions. The sites were buried to preserve the knowledge, which is why we find the same symbolism in Ancient Egypt, Sumer, and the Indus Valley 6,000 years after it was built.

Sharpie Friend Rock Adventures is modern Geology in Action! We have a hard, raised deposit under our sink that formed from a slow water leak. You can see a bit of texture & crystal structure in 10x hand lens & it reacts with HCl. What is it? How would you classify this rock?

So many proponents of pseudoarchaeology get bent out of shape when the racist aspects of pseudoarch is pointed out. History has shown us the danger. Politicians used pseudoarchaeology to justify the forced removal of Natives to steal their resources. Many thousands died.
Today is Cherokee Nation Remembrance Day. 187 years ago today, one of the final groups of Cherokees arrived in Indian Territory after being forcibly removed from our homelands and enduring a perilous journey across the Trail of Tears.

The global flood in Genesis 6–8 wipes away the concept of millions of years because this flood explains fossil and sediment layers.

How to smell a troll #765 MrDude12345, "DM me for my supet-secret NASA identity & refs on super secret ancient Woo-stuff" Me, "No. That's kinda creepy. Just provide it publically." MrDude12345 "I paid for this blue check-mark & you're an ass." 🤣
Interesting response to a request for a DM. You do know anyone who wants to pay for a verified account can get one, right? The status of being "real" that used to come with the blue check-mark is long gone. Lots of obvious porn-bots that pop up everywhere are blue-checked. 🤣

Yup! And when you provide comprehensive ref lists/links and use them to address the alt-peeps' posts/claims point by point....you'll probably get blocked. 😉
Its interesting how alt history people call basic referencing 'appeals to authority' but then appeal to authority when it comes to Bondi's claims and Dunn's measurements... suddenly we just have to trust what they say and not assess the quality of their work.

FYI for @tianguistore - nope. I never said anything about Corsetti responding to OP's post. Corsetti will Corsetti, he ran away from my fact-checks & blocked me a year ago. 🤣 OP also didn't say anything about being character limited. Someone is looking for "reasons". 😉

Since I'm blocked by the OP, I'll just put this here. Thanks @JLWORRAD. I did none of the running away. 😉 OP could check & see that I haven't blocked him even after he blocked me. Who is the "Karen"? Cc:@jtlewis_arch

Two days later, I can't believe the over-easy egg hasn't been chomped by one of the neighborhood domestic or wild critters. But.... it MOVED. 🤔 We have an eggcellent mystery on our hands. 🤣
I've seen some "interesting" things lying about during mid-day dog walks. But, a single, solitary, perfectly fried over-easy egg sitting in the grass next to the sidewalk is....a new one.
