Our Level 5 Certificate in Horsemanship/Equitation students have been busy getting to know our horses and develop their riding skills today!

Hefin - if you are ever in Tipperary do call in. @GurteenCollege farm is joy to work with, 250 vey high EBI Dairy cows, 80 superb suckler cows, 450 ewes, 120 acres of tillage plus plenty of woodland, bog, and water. A truly world class learning environment

A new dawn for equine @GurteenCollege โฆ now the horses are in the stable we are ready to welcome the students. After a 4 hiatus we are proud to be back serving this important sector of the rural community

#AHSI conf (cont.). 1 Sep @GurteenCollege Several short lectures & presentations on 19C & 20C Ag. ed. & rural life. History of Gurteen outlined by Principal, Jon Parry, with major contributions from Robert Armitage & Richard Hamilton. RH gave us tour of the fab farming facilities
ALT Original farmstead at Gurteen; purchased by Methodist Church (open to all religions & none) & opened as an Agricultural College 1947
ALT Maureen Kilgore (of Caherciveen & QUB): From Home to Community: Describing a Century of Transformation in the Lives of Four Rural Irish Women (her grandmothers, mother, etc.). This was one of several most interesting presentations by AHSI members & friends
