Can we stop begging for debts and focus on cleaning our messy house?
Haven't read the comments here but I'm certain everyone will question if those funds will ever reach the farmers.
Economists please give us a temptative breakdown of how those funds will disappear.
Cameroon and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) signed, on April 22 in Yaoundé, a framework agreement worth more than 1.617 billion FCFA (or $2,731,076) to support Cameroonian small farmers. The agreement was initialed on the one hand by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (Minader), Gabriel Mbairobe, and on the other hand, by the FAO sub-regional coordinator for Central Africa, Athman Mravili, in the presence of the director general of the UN institution, Qu Dongyu, on an official visit to Cameroon.
The agreement focuses on strengthening the production capacities of smallholders through crop and livestock support for resilience. It covers the regions of the East, Adamaoua, North and Far North, we learn. The Minister of Agriculture explained that this envelope will be structured in three parts. The first component, relating to support for the development of small agricultural production units, aims to acquire and distribute 3,950 input kits in the banana-plantain (1,500), yam (1,000), and cassava sectors. (1,000) and market gardens (450) in the Eastern region.
