It not 15 years ago, but 11 years ago a blinded trial compared CTI to PVI. PVI won for AF and QOL in this sham trial. Is it ethical to repeat it?
Moreover, we don’t need a sham for an outcome unrelated to placebo. No one questions value of PVI to prevent recurrences or ⬇️ burden

As background, @ABIMcert is forcing payment of MOC fees related old certification that one may have no intention of maintaining (example: internal medicine if also boarded in cardiology). They refuse to separate MOC fees among different certifications, thus maximizing $. Advice?
