Promised myself a drink to celebrate either Wembley or a really wonderful season. Shame its the latter but as Alan Buckley said, the successes stay with you forever. #gtfc
In Tuesday's Peripatetic diary: the days of our wonder year were threescore years and ten and all for under a tenner at all good club shops

I watched Fleetwood host a ManUtd reserve XI in 2007. Danny Welbeck was dominant. Local boy wanted to sing about the absence of black in the Union Jack. I took comfort in his condemnation by those around him, many pointing out that Cod No. 6, Nathan Pond, was one of their own.

A rare return to the @codalmighty hot seat for me today, and a reminder of how a good fanzine is an outlet for inspirations which would not otherwise see the light of day. Great work by @algy04
Red socks have become part of #gtfc's identity but when they were introduced in 1934 they drew gasps of surprise. They helped make the team one of the best in the League. Thanks to @codalmighty for publishing my article
Nearest to a silver lining I can find is how sick the players looked afterwards. We could do with Fenty back to give us a villain to kick against. #gtfc
Uncannily composed, like a new Alan Hansen, early in his career at Ashton Gate. Almost immaculate in the play-off final. The overhead kick at Portman Road which had me dreaming. This one hurts. Thoughts with Peter Handyside's family and friends
Just came back from a walk. All "Good mornings" from the dog walkers I met without a single "Merry Christmas". One man braced himself and was clearly relieved when I just said "Hi". Evidently only dogs and introverts go out on Christmas morning
I remember getting aerated at the QPR owner when he played the "everyone raises their game against us" card the week after they let Bradford City beat them in 1997, relegating us
Exactly. May or may not be the right decision but if Fenty had come out with that tosh he'd have been pilloried. Should have kept to his own rule and left it until tomorrow
Would anyone like to put a date and a place the phrase "Kill the machine " was first used? A #gtfc fan kept shouting it during a crucial Good Friday game against Chelsea in 1929
Mahler's 1st symphony on the radio and there's a bit Leonard Cohen must surely have lifted for "Who by fire". Am I the last person on the planet to tumble to this?
