After careful consideration, we have decided to officially put our presence on X on ice 🧊

ALT After careful consideration, we’ve decided to officially put our presence on X (formerly Twitter) on ice. It has become increasingly clear that the platform’s current direction and governance under Elon Musk no longer align with our values. X’s recent shifts in policy and leadership have raised significant concerns, particularly in the growing attacks on Diversity, Equality, Inclusion, and the disabled community. As an organisation committed to creating an equitable, accessible, and inclusive future of work, we cannot continue to use a platform where these essential principles are being undermined. While we’re pausing our activity on X, we remain committed to connecting, engaging, and growing with our community. Join us on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook to continue the conversation and keep up with our latest updates. Thank you for your understanding.

With just 10 days left of Disability History Month, today we’re reflecting on the powerful words of Judith Heumann.
What’s one thing you’ve learned or want to share during #DisabilityHistoryMonth?
Let’s continue to celebrate, learn, and take action together 💪
#JudithHeumann
ALT A purple/pink background. A quote reads “The way society thinks about disability needs to evolve, as too many people view disability as something to loathe or fear. By recognising how disabled people enrich our communities, we can all be empowered to make sure disabled people are included.” Under this, text reads ‘Judith Heumann. Disability Rights activist and author’. To the right is an image of Judith. In the bottom left corner is a Patchwork Hub ‘P’ magnifying glass logo.

Huge congrats to @celia_hensman, who last week, was named the most influential disabled person in the UK at the @ShawTrust Disability Power 100!
To celebrate Celia’s incredible achievement, we thought we’d reshare her Patchworker Spotlight 🔁
#DisabilityPower100
Continuing our Patchworker Spotlight Series, we recently caught up with the one and only @celia_hensman to learn more about her story and the incredible work that she does.
Check out the full blog by visiting the link below:

ALT Purple background with stars. This background repeats throughout. A photo of Celia is displayed in the centre. Text reads: ‘Patchworker Spotlight! Celia Chartres-Aris.
ALT Heading text reads ‘Celia Chartres-Aris’. The text below reads ‘Celia is a multi-award-winning disabled founder, investor, campaigner & lobbyist, and policy & legal expert. A social entrepreneur, disability advocate and the founder of some incredible disability inclusion organisations, Celia works internationally and across sectors to push for change around disability equality, accessibility, and inclusion. We asked Celia a few questions to find out more about what drives her work and the things she’s learnt throughout her journey…’ In the bottom right corner is an image of Celia in a radio booth.
ALT Heading text reads ‘What inspired you to start doing the work that you currently do?’. Under this, the text reads ‘Because of my own experiences of being discriminated against, constantly doubted and thought less of, since I was young I’ve always had a deep passion for law, politics & policy and a desire to change the mechanisms that govern our daily lives. I’m inspired by the notion of embedding the campaigns we’re all working so hard to achieve into policy so that no matter what, disabled people are protected from ableism. To me, policy is the key to change - we have to improve our laws of equity and inclusion to make sustained and long-term change.’ In the bottom right corner is an illustration of shooting starts flying over the Houses of Parliament.
ALT Heading text reads ‘If you could change one thing about the world of work or the way employers saw accessibility, what would it be and why?’ Below this, text reads ‘That accessibility and the inclusion of disabled people are of equal importance to other diversity and inclusion matters. So often disability is missed out of the conversation and placed on the backbench of importance. Disabled people are being excluded from the workplace due to the lack of prioritisation of accessibility, and many still operate under the manifesto that 'disabled people couldn't possibly want to or could work!' Accessibility is a human right, not a privilege, a favour or a ‘cost’. Equity of access should be a non-negotiable.’
We’re well into #DisabilityHistoryMonth, and this year’s theme is ‘Disability Livelihood and Employment’.
Core to Patchwork Hub’s mission, we’re helping employers break down barriers for disabled talent.
