A couple of months ago, WAMU (possibly this prrogram) had a couple of female doctors talking about women's experiences in menstruation and I was totally blown away when one of the doctors said that "pain is not normal." We women have become convnced that pain is part & parcel-

Serena Williams' experience post childbirth is an excellent example of this. Not just that her pain was dismissed but that they also didn't seem to be aware that black women are more likely to "throw a clot" (I think that's what it was).
