A hack I learned at the NSA: Trash is full of phenomenal intelligence. And there's one place your competitor produces the best trash - Glassdoor[1]. Disgruntled employees complain about: - Cultural shifts - Strategic directions - Customers Here's my system for trash analysis: - Pull reviews (manually or scrape) - Load via PDF into Claude - Prompt for summaries The results then go into my Judgment Log on each competitor and notable findings go into my Competitor Dashboard. But you should know: - The US spends ~$8 Trillion on you - You're taxed more when you spend income - ~50% of the US pay zero income tax - Wealthy could pay 70% of their wealth in taxes So here's ways to lower taxes: - Move to a low tax location - Pick a career with tax advantages - Estate planning - Understand and use the tax code - Take advantage of tax incentives But the big question: Is tax planning even worth it? Something we're not ready for: The cost to get a customer through sales and marketing is up: 108.9%! And it's going to get worse. Because: - We've had no new marketing channels since 2016 - So everyone floods them - And AI will flood them more But here's how I'd avoid this: Provide as much value for free as possible. Sounds crazy, but costs are only up: - 55.2% for getting customers via a free product - 39.8% for those who convert via video and podcasts So invest in free. There's a lot more I could go deeper on. Argue to seek truth, not win. We don't like our ideas challenged. It makes us feel like we're wrong or losing. But you can't know your ideas are right unless they're challenged. So drop your defenses in arguments. And approach them as a place to get better. You'll learn more.

Learn from everyone you meet. No one is better or worse than you. No one is a more or less virtuous teacher. So ask as many questions as possible. You'll be surprised where you'll learn your hardest-hitting lessons.

Always know what you want. If you can't answer: "When you die, what do you want to have accomplished on any axes?" Then your life lacks purpose. Which means you'll be unhappy. But also - you're wasting your life.
