This is Belfast! What an incredible turnout today in response to the shocking racism we have seen on our streets this week. Belfast stands together. Hate will never win. Solidarity will!

The PSNI should focus their attention on throwing these scumbags in jail. No healthcare worker - or anyone else - will be subjected to intimidation like this. We stand with them.

Proud to join a massive turnout of community organisations at St Comgall’s today as West Belfast stood together in solidarity with ethnic minority families. I was glad to get the opportunity to speak about the light in all this darkness - the many people in our community giving their time to keep families safe, deliver food and support people who have experienced significant trauma. West Belfast can lead the way. We all have a responsibility to stamp out this hatred wherever we find it.

I have been supporting a family who have been burned out of their home tonight. It is absolutely sickening. I am grateful to everyone who has stepped up to support them and make sure they are safe (including Parent Rooms / Happy Womens Group). This madness must end before someone is killed.

I utterly condemn the horrific attack in North Belfast. The community is in shock right now. My thoughts are with the victim, his family and everyone affected. I sincerely hope he pulls through. Those who intervened showed extraordinary courage. I hope their actions have saved this man’s life, and they should be commended for stepping forward in such dangerous circumstances. The person arrested in connection with this attack must now face the full force of the law. Our communities must always be places where every person and every family is safe and made to feel safe, regardless of their background, and where no one lives in fear of violence or intimidation.

Proud of every single person who took part in the 25-mile walk from Lurgan in solidarity with the people of Palestine. They walked for justice, for humanity and for a people enduring bombardment, displacement and starvation. When they were confronted by thugs waving Israeli flags and attempting to intimidate them, they did not turn back. They kept going. Shame on Carla Lockhart and the other DUP representatives who chose to stand shoulder to shoulder with those attempting to intimidate peaceful marchers. History will remember who stood against genocide and who chose to stand with those defending it. Solidarity with Palestine. 🇵🇸

Thinking of the Springhill-Westrock families today. Today’s apology is long overdue - and it should shame the British state that families had to wait more than five decades for the truth to be acknowledged. The British Army murdered innocent people on the streets of West Belfast. No apology can undo that. No apology can give families back what was stolen from them. But this apology matters because it confirms what this community always knew: the families were right, their loved ones were innocent, and the cover-up failed. The truth did not come from the British state - it came because these families never stopped fighting.
