Pop, Collaborate & Listen Podcast - @davefensome and Krister Greer take it upon themselves to listen to and review every number one UK album of the 90s.
In our latest episode about Simply Red's 'Life' we mention that the album got reviewed in both the NME and the Melody Maker at the time which frankly seems a bit weird. But it's true, here's the proof.

Our new episode is about Simply Red's 1995 album 'Life' and listening to it left us unable to think of any good ideas for online promotion. So you're getting this.

So Mr Hucknall, we meet again. Simply Red's 'Life' was a big seller in '95 and had a huge #1 single on it but still feels like it doesn't get remembered much these days. We certainly didn't know much about it going into this episode and TBH we kind of wish it had stayed that way.
Looks like the time has come to record an episode on Simply Red's 'Life' album from 1995 then. The one with Fairground on it. That one.
Anyone got any memories or thoughts on this one that we'll legally be allowed to read out on the podcast?
Wahey! Thanks to you if you voted for us, thanks also if you checked us out for the first time because of this competition. Hope you didn't mind all the swearing.
Yours faithfully,
The award-winning PCL chaps.

Hey! Want to hear Dave from this podcast talking about Alice in Chains? No, of course you don't. Nobody does. But luckily he's talking to the lovely chaps of @TrveCvltPop on their show and you'll very much enjoy their chat so head on over and give it a listen.
On this weeks show we celebrate 30 years to the day since the recording of one of the most legendary live concerts films in history; Alice in Chains MTV Unplugged.
We’re joined by Dave Fensome of the @PclPodcast to go through true a classic.

In our current Oasis episode we mention Noel's comments about wishing that Damon & Alex from Blur would "get AIDS and die". Here are some music press clippings that mention the incident and the backlash he promptly received!
A couple of music press Morning Glory track-by-track features pre-album release. The Melody Maker one still includes Step Out before they decided to use it as a b-side after Stevie Wonder's lawyers got involved.

All of the (UK) 7" singles from ...Morning Glory and their B-sides. If you include Acquiesce which was on the 12" & CD single of Some Might Say that's a formidable clutch of non-album tracks. Any favourites that stand out to you?

Here are the NME and Melody Maker reviews for #Oasis (What's The Story) Morning Glory from back in the day - strangely reserved reactions from both publications. Thought they'd be a lot more MAD FOR IT from the off.
pclpodcast.com to listen to our episode on the album.
Here we are then, probably the biggest and most famous album of the current season in Oasis' '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?' HUGE record. So, do you think that despite being contrarian twats we'll actually like this one? I said maybe...

Ooh, it's a big one next! We're recording an episode on Oasis' 'What's The Story (Morning Glory)' at the weekend and we're sure that plenty of people will have plenty of opinions on this one. Let us know your memories of when it came out and what you thought/think of it. Ta!
Mariah Carey/fish puns - who says we've run out of ideas?
Mariah Carpy?
Fintasy?
errr...
One Sweet Cray(fish)?
Just go and listen to the episode and pretend this post never happened.

PCL meets Mariah for round two! This time it's her 1995 album Daydream which features some truly massive singles (Fantasy, One Sweet Day, Always Be My Baby) and a hefty chunk of silly warbling as well. Have a listen at pclpodcast.com as always, or wherever you prefer.
After a few more "indie" albums in a row we're back into pop territory and will be recording an episode on Mariah Carey's 'Daydream' this weekend. Does anyone remember this one well? Some massive singles on this one for sure. Let us know your thoughts/memories as always. Cheers!
Melody Maker's track-by-track guide to Blur's 'The Great Escape' from August 19th 1995. If only we could be this succinct our podcast would probably be done in about 20 minutes, including Dave failing to guess all the singles.
