Muñoz, who was awarded Honorable Mention (Book Award) by the National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies for "Desert Dreams: Mexican Arizona and the Politics of Educational Equality"! The award recognizes an outstanding new book in the field of Chicana and Chicano Studies. Muñoz's accomplishment was celebrated in April at the organization's annual meeting. Published by University of Pennsylvania Press, the book chronicles seventy-five years of Mexican American efforts to attain educational equality in Arizona, from its territorial period in the nineteenth century to the post–World War II era. @unlhistory @pennpress
