Four astronauts launched April 1, 2026, on the first crewed mission to the Moon in over 50 years.
Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, and Mission Specialists Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen are aboard Artemis II.

The Canadian Space Agency selected Hansen in 2009.
He served as capcom at Mission Control and became the first Canadian to lead a NASA astronaut class.
He's married to Dr. Catherine Hansen with three children.

Hansen will be the first Canadian to travel to the Moon and first non-American beyond low Earth orbit.
The crew completed their translunar injection burn on April 2 and will fly around the Moon on April 6 before splashing down in the Pacific.
