#Bielefeld project #altstadt.raum: at 2nd stakeholder workshop on March 23, the topics of accessibility and parking were discussed. The aim is to agree on the tasks for the planning experts. Their work on ideas for implementation will take place in the second half of 2023.

#Bielefeld will receive over 3 million Euro for implementing measures in the Old Town, i.e. for new use of public space, against overheating in summers and to deal with heavy rain events. The application was approved by federal programm "adaption of urban space to climate change"

Great concession from #URBACT! Some of our partners in Space4People network couldn't keep the deadline for final progress report, which was today. But URBACT agreed on an extension. Very non-bureaucratic and flexible as well as our first level controller. A story to remember!

After 2 years of construction work Bielefelds Mayor Pit Clausen and Deputy Prime Minister of North Rhine Westphalia Mona #Neubaur opened the new designed #Jahnplatz in #Bielefeld yesterday. The Citizens celebrated the opening with a big party!

Wow, the German Bicycle Prize 2022 for infrastructure measures goes to cycling network of Ostwestfalen Lippe region and thus to Bielefeld and its neighboring districts! A great success for the integrated cycling concept and a boost for Bielefeld's sustainable mobility strategy!

#UVAR project in the old town of #Bielefeld: it's winter time and activities are going on. For the first time citizens can play ICE STOCK SPORT in the city! Lord Mayor Pit Clausen opened the game and made the first throw. More #space4people and more fun instead of parking places!

Bielefeld's #UVAR pilot at the oldtown horseshoe will start in June! City Council decided last night that the oldtown should become much more attractive for customers and visitors by testing more outdoor gastronomy at street parking space and closure of some streets for cars.

Today the URBACT Summer University is starting - due to COVID19 it's taking place online for the first time. To be honest, it feels a bit strange to me to join it online, but I am very curious how it will work.
