I would just like to remind @HaroldFordJr that, as Christians, the Bible tells us: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” In Colossians 3:2, the apostle Paul writes, “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things,” and Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” On @TheFive yesterday, you said we need to change as the world changes. You gave the example that you once didn’t agree with same-sex marriage and now you’re okay with it. You changed but God never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Think about it.

While at Carson-Newman College, “The Hoagie Shop” was one of our favorite food spots in the town. There was a pen and ink drawing that looked like this and it hung on the wall for years. The Hoagie Shop was located on 11 W (Andrew Johnson Highway) in Jefferson City. Best subs ever! When I returned to our home on Clarges Street in London in 1972, my mom told me she had taken a sketch that I had made of the Beatles and gave it to someone at Abbey Road Studios for it to be hopefully signed by the Beatles. I imagined picking it up and getting to meet John, Paul, George and Ringo. But if I could have only met one of the Beatles, it would had to have been Paul McCartney. When I went to retrieve it, the drawing was still in the closet where my mom said it had been placed a year earlier. :( @PaulMcCartney @AbbeyRoad @thebeatles

Golden Tempo and his jockey Jose Ortiz came out of the gate not so great and ended up dead last at the back of the pack. Then they passed 17 other horses, including second-place Renegade who was ridden by Jose’s brother. Golden Tempo won the 152nd Run for the Roses/ Kentucky Derby in 2:02.27. I love the white marking on Golden Tempo’s forehead. It resembles a cross. A great lesson on why you should never give up or give in. Persevere: A course of action despite difficulties or obstacles. Tenacious: Holding fast to a goal with great persistence. Indomitable: Unconquerable; impossible to subdue. Relentless: Unceasingly intense or persistent. Resolute: Admirably purposeful and unwavering. Unyielding: Not giving up or giving in. @KentuckyDerby
