I am a C2 ventilated quadriplegic and I started this Foundation to find a cure for paralysis.
I want to walk again. I want to stand up and hug my family again and I want to see my friends with injuries do the same. ๐

Congratulations to Professor Alan Mackay-Sim who has been awarded a Member of the General Division of the Order of Australia. He is a Neuroscientist and leader in stem cell research and is Chairman of the Advisory Board, Spinal Injury Project at Griffith University. ๐๐

Today marks 27 years post injury. It has been a challenging journey to say the least, however, Iโm extremely grateful to have such a great community around me. ๐ I feel optimistic and motivated by the pursuit of finding a cure for paralysis. Everything is possible!

Today I enjoyed the privilege of having pancakes and ice cream with Chanaye, who suffered a spinal cord injury in a motor vehicle accident seven months ago. Now a T2 paraplegic, Chanaye has the most incredible outlook on life. What an inspiration. ๐๐ป

Check out this incredible microscopic image from our research lab! This was taken by Dr Ronak Reshamwala, from the Spinal Injury Project team, and shows olfactory ensheathing cells (OECs) which have been transplanted as a spheroid into the injured spinal cord (OECs are red).

We are excited to let you know our Intensive Rehabilitation Trial is progressing! The Spinal Injury Project Team had an important meeting with the contract research organisation and the final protocol was reviewed which ensures the trial will comply with good clinical practice.
