Happy to meet with the Acting President of Venezuela, Ms. Delcy Rodríguez. We had extensive discussions on expanding our cooperation in energy, critical minerals, technology, agriculture, health and people-to-people ties. As a valued partner in Latin America, our close cooperation with Venezuela holds immense importance for the Global South. We will continue to work together for the mutual benefit of the people of our nations. @delcyrodriguezv

Merz announces renewed bid by Germany to run for a non permanent UN Security Council seat in 2035/36. This comes days after Germany’s bruising defeat against Austria and Portugal in the vote. This time wants to avoid competing bids within Western European group, Merz says.

Germany has failed to win a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council. Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul (CDU) secured 104 votes in the General Assembly, falling 23 short of the required two-thirds majority. It is the first time Germany has missed out on a rotating seat.

Long answer: at 12 PM today. Join me live as we talk about IGR, journalism, India’s voice in the world, and what possesses someone to start a media company in 2026. (Also, I’ve done approximately one YouTube Live in my life. So this could be mildly chaotic.)
Tune in at 12 PM IST today for a special conversation with @palkisu on the @IGR_Media's Youtube channel. Click on the link and press the bell icon to get notified - when we go LIVE: youtube.com/live/OXW1xVkZXiQ…

It was an absolute honor to host my friend @SecRubio in India for the past four days! We held productive meetings with Prime Minister Modi, External Affairs Minister Dr. Jaishankar, and NSA Doval. We traveled through Kolkata, New Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur, celebrated America’s 250th birthday, and capped the visit with a highly successful Quad meeting. America’s foreign policy is in outstanding hands with Secretary Marco Rubio at the helm!

Good discussions with @SecRubio of USA in New Delhi. Reviewed the entire spectrum of our Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, including trade & energy, defence & security, critical minerals & AI, nuclear & people-to-people, counter-terror & counter-narcotics cooperation. Regional, global and multilateral issues of mutual interest were also discussed. Have a detailed readout at the press conference thereafter. Look forward to joining Secretary Rubio and our colleagues from Australia and Japan for the QUAD Foreign Ministers’ meeting on Tuesday. 🇮🇳 🇺🇸

I had a very good call with @POTUS. We discussed the situation in the Middle East and our close coordination with regional partners. We are united that Iran must never posses a nuclear weapon. Recent events have clearly shown that the risks to regional stability and global security are too great. We also discussed the EU–U.S. trade deal. We remain fully committed, on both sides, to its implementation. Good progress is being made towards tariff reduction by early July.
