This doesnโt mean we should hollow out civil society to get leaders to political power. We must find a balance. Civil society remains an integral part of our democracy. It is the duty of those who occupy positions of power to help strengthen civil society.

One of our biggest challenge in the country is definitely political will. This is contributed to by the fact that we donโt have caring, capable and ethical leaders in legislatures & the executive. Many are in civil society & other sectors of our society. Itโs time a shift happens

This year has seen a sharp increase in school conflict mandates for me .... SGBs, educators, learners, parents, unions and even members of the specific communities, often involved in harmful, costly conflicts for which they are ill-equipped. This makes the tough job of running a school even more challenging
