Chief Jason Lando spent time with members of Basic Recruit Class 25-02 at the Training Academy on Monday. Chief Lando and Acting Assistant Chief Lori McCartney presented to the class on the principles of 21st Century Policing, outlining the Bureau's expectations. The 34 recruits are less than two weeks away from graduation, after which they will hit the streets to serve the city as the newest @Pittsburgh Police officers!

First responders shared details about their responsibilities and gave children tours of ambulances, fire trucks, and police cars. These events gave students valuable hands-on learning while helping first responders build positive community relationships before the school year ended.

Community members, local organizations, and law enforcement came together to promote peace and support ongoing efforts to reduce violence.
