One of the unsung heroes for the Spurs this postseason has been De’Aaron Fox, particularly due to his increased volume and efficiency as a creator. Fox is quietly putting together one of the best self-creation scoring runs of the playoffs. Among players averaging at least 11.5 creation TSAs, he ranks fifth in Creation TS%. His 54.7% Creation TS% and 3.3 rTS both rank in the 93rd percentile this postseason. What may be even more impressive is the jump in volume. Fox has added 2.5 Creation TSAs per game from the regular season to the playoffs while maintaining elite efficiency despite the heavier workload, avoiding the postseason dip in efficiency that many players fall victim to.

Ball Screen Monday: Guard-To-Guard Ball Screens on YouTube now!⬇️ youtu.be/IVzCYJ6QQ5s?si=yMHV…
A preview from this weeks Ball Screen Monday Attacking Switching Defenses with Guard-to-Guard Ball Screens Clip 1: One thing I love about guard-to-guard ball screens is that they create pressure in multiple places at once. The on-ball defenders have to communicate the switch. The weakside defenders have to decide when and where to help. The more information you force a defense to process, the more likely it is to break. Clip 2: Screen-setting technique isn't just for bigs. Guards need it too. The screener gets downhill in this action because of his screening angle and ability to create contact at the point of the screen. Clip 3: One of the biggest misconceptions about attacking switching defenses. Not every action needs to create confusion. Sometimes the best actions work because the defense executes the switch exactly how it's supposed to.

May I introduce a very under the radar prospect(sarcasm) Keaton Wagler PTS in the Paint/ 40: 7.4 (81st percentile) At Rim FG%: 63.3% 2P Assisted %: 9.1% How is he successful at scoring in the paint? Footwork. Balance. Pivots. Patience. I’ve said it before, but scoring has evolved so much over the last decade. Pace, counters, shooting, decision-making, and scoring versatility have become increasingly important. Elite burst is still good, but it’s never been easier to be an effective scorer without an “explosive first step”
Jalen Brunson isn't supposed to score like this. 14.7 PPG in the Paint! He's 6'1". He's not dunking on everybody. He's not blowing by defenders with elite athleticism. Yet he consistently gets into the paint and scores against bigger defenders. In fact, during one historic playoff run, Brunson averaged 14.7 points in the paint per game. That's the highest mark by any guard since the NBA started tracking points in the paint nearly 30 years ago. How does he do it? Footwork. Balance. Pivots. Patience. The ability to create angles and adjust when the first option disappears. That's the lesson for young players. You don't have to be the tallest. You don't have to be the fastest. You don't have to jump the highest. But you do need answers when you get into the paint. Can you stay balanced through contact? Can you create a better angle? Can you pivot without panicking? Can you counter when your first move gets cut off? That's what separates a rushed finish from an efficient one. 👉 That's exactly why we created No Nonsense Moves — a player development system that teaches the footwork, pivots, counters, and finishing actions that help players score more efficiently around the basket. 🔥 For a limited time, you can claim a special discount on the complete No Nonsense Moves system: utm.rocks/up35p

I’m going to make a longer post about this, but I really don’t understand the Oso hate from a large portion of Suns fans. To start this was Oso’s 2nd season in the league. Plus a coaching change that saw changes in offensive/defensive identity & responsibilities. Addressing some of the discourse I have seen that many comments are saying he can’t shoot & can’t block shots. Unfortunately having to state the obvious here, but you don’t NEED to make 3s in order to be an effective offensive player. Yes the Free Throw % was bad and certainly something Oso will work to develop, but to use that as a means to attempt to categorize his offensive impact is irresponsible. The Suns best offensive lineups all involve Oso. Oso’s ORTG On/Off was a 4.1 (89 percentile). The Suns best offensive 2 Man lineups both include Oso. If you look at the Suns best offensive 3 Man lineups that involve Devin Booker there is only 1 other player that also appears in those 3 lineups. I’m pretty sure you can guess who it is. Lastly, the 2 best offensive 4 man lineups also include Oso. Individually you can see in the picture below all of the offensive metrics that Oso improved in year-to-year, I’m not going to list them all, but it’s basically all of them. Moving on to defense “he can’t block shots” is lazy writing. Trying not to get too analytical here, but per databallr Oso posted a 1.9 DDPM (98th percentile). He also posted the 3rd best Def On/Off among Suns players that played significant minutes. And similar to his offensive metrics his defensive impact took a significant jump from year 1 as well. Oso’s defensive versatility his ability to screen, play-make, and be initiator on offense in Jordan Otts system is what makes him so valuable for the Suns moving forward. And yes, there is certainly a lot of development in Oso’s game to be had, but for fans to be frustrated like this after year 2 is mind boggling.
The Suns recently fully guaranteed Oso Ighodaro's contract for next season, per @BobbyMarks42. Ighodaro was the only Sun to appear in all 82 games in 2025-26, averaging 6.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
