Today we celebrate Juneteenth, the day that marks the end of slavery in the United States. Many enslaved black people in the United States didn't have freedom until 1865, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Our philosopher of the week is Dr. Kwame Anthony Appiah! He taught African-American studies and philosophy at Yale, Princeton, and the University of Ghana (and more!). His main focuses are race, history, and political theory. Check him out!
