Project planning meeting with the @MetroWestCLE team this morning. Thanks to a $75k grant from the Cleveland Tree Coalition, we’re going to plant 50 trees between Clark Ave and Storer Ave on W. 65th in Stockyards this month. Coming in 2025: Greening up Storer Ave.

HUGE shoutout to @HFandG Tree Corps for their help with re-mulching, staking & pruning of over two dozen young(ish) trees @CityofCleveland City Hall today. This included hauling hundreds of lbs of stone from tree pits for nearly 6 hours. These trees are looking so much better.

Check out this new sidewalk material being piloted in different parts of the city (Flexipave). Its flexible, porous, 2" composition allows tree roots to do their thing without cracking or popping the walking path while also absorbing stormwater. Another tool in the toolbox.

More tree wins: Over two dozen added to the newly revamped Lake Pool Park. Brought @NewsHour here a few yrs ago to highlight CLE’s low canopy. Also helped secure $75k (thanks @WRLConservancy) w/ @MetroWestCLE for 50 plantings on W. 65 between Clark and Storer Ave in Stockyards.

Old Brooklyn Street Fest was well done. Bonus: got to watch that Guardians grand slam while drinking a beer in the middle of Broadview. Pretty unique and memorable. Great job @OBCDC and @CouncilMaurer

First time at the Ohio Transportation Engineering Conference. Some good sessions on active transportation efforts statewide. Also, grabbed some grub at Ringside (est 1897); bike ride on Olentangy River Trail and; group run with Grandview Run Club.
