Most people think networking is about making new connections, It isn't.
The real challenge starts after the connection has already been made.
We've all seen it before, Someone connects with you, has a great conversation, exchanges contacts, and then disappears for months.
The next time they show up? they need a favor πΉ.
Maybe it is an introduction, a job opportunity, a referral, a whitelist spot, a partnership, or help promoting a project.
The problem is that relationships don't grow in silence, In both real life and Web3, the strongest connections are built through consistency, not convenience,
Imagine having a friend who only calls when they need money, after a while, you stop seeing them as a friend and start seeing them as a transaction.
The same thing happens in networking.
A connection that isn't maintained eventually becomes a cold contact, a cold contact becomes a forgotten contact, and a forgotten contact becomes a missed opportunity.
The people with the strongest networks aren't necessarily the smartest or the most connected ones, they're often the ones who check in, engage genuinely, support others, and stay present even when they don't need anything.
A simple message. A comment on someone's post. A genuine congratulations. A quick check in. Small actions keep valuable connections alive.
Don't just build connections. Maintain them.
I will be hosting a Space tonight by 9 PM to discuss this topic further.
I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this.
Come share your perspective, lessons, and personal experiences.
Set your reminder Space link is in the comments section. ππ½
