My favorite World Cup discourse is that people are just realizing we are mostly the same everywhere.
Some people are assholes. Most people are decent, welcoming, and helpful given the chance.
Which has always been my experience traveling.
Though I have my favorites.

I’ve only ever had one interaction like that while traveling. A waiter in Paris got pissed because we sat at the tables directly in front of the place we bought ice cream.
Apparently, they were tables for a restaurant down the way.
Everyone else in Paris was lovely.
Because when Americans go abroad a lot of people treat them with disdain and that generally leads to less friendly behavior

Just because he’s not directly adapting a specific game doesn’t mean he won’t be true to the games though.
If he tells a standalone story that fits within the canon of the games - I’m more than fine with that.
We’ll have to see what he does.
Surprised that fans are saying:
“If you want a Resident Evil movie true to the games, just play the games.”
This is also basically what Paul W.S. Anderson said in 2002.
