In which I talk about the Silent Hill game that never was, its playable teaser, and how obsessing over it ultimately ruined its magic.

In which I talk about Silent Hill: The Short Message, what that subtitular message is, and who it was actually meant for.

i no longer believe Death Stranding was a Hideo Kojima "prediction."
it was "protection." Death Stranding is a game with a feedback loop that FORCES people to support each other. he sees us tear each other apart. he wanted to protect us from that.
Metal Gear Solid 2 released today 23 years ago in 2001. 🎂
A script written in 1999 delivered one of the most eerily accurate descriptions of our current social and political climate so, all the way to the message delivered by an AI.

Akira Yamaoka of Silent Hill fame made the soundtrack of Slitterhead including a vocal theme in the style of Cantopop with his personal touch to represent the 90s Hong Kong era of the game.
It's a great tune worth listening
#Hellblade 2: Senua's Saga yells about graphics. Fidelity roars over the combat, art direction, and story. Peeling away the layers just shows how clumsy and uninteresting it is as a game and as a work of art, drowning in swollen budgets and its desire to be lauded as the latest “best-looking-game-ever” in a long line of “best-looking-game-ever”’s.
It was a disappointment, but you probably knew that already.

It was an absolute honor to have @luke_j_roberts who plays James Sunderland in Silent Hill 2 Remake @BlooberTeam@Konami
We spoke of various scenes in the game, the pressure of playing such an iconic character and more!

The world is a little extra horrible at the moment, but it's also a world where the 2003 Piglet game contains the same sample as one of the songs in the 2024 Silent Hill 2 remake. That's at the very least a *deeply interesting* world to live in!
"I am rumor. It is a blessed condition, believe me. To be whispered about at street corners. To live in other people's dreams, but not to have to be."
Our beloved Candyman has left us, but his name will be whispered for generations to come.
Rest in peace, Tony Todd. ❤️
First impressions of Slitterhead: Love how much it feels like an evolution of the Siren games. It even uses the term "sightjack". It's a neat twist on the formula, where the bodies you hop between are used to aid you in combat, rather than survival horror stealth. (1/3)
Too early to say if the body hopping mechanic is gonna make for an interesting narrative theme yet, but I'm VERY excited about its potential. Given that we live in a time where people really need to start banding together, Slitterhead feels very timely so far. (2/3)
I also can't help but think about Watch Dogs Legion while playing this? Like, maybe this game will be able to make a more interesting point using a relatively similar gimmick? (3/3)
