We are proud to support Lesbian Visibility Day which seeks to acknowledge and celebrate lesbians.
This day aims to raise awareness about the stereotypes, judgments, and lack of representation that lesbians face. #lesbianvisibilityday#loveislove@LesbianVisWeek@DIVAmagazine
Today on #LesbianVisibilityDay, we assert the diversity, flexibility & resilience of the lesbian movement as it continues to grow, carving out space for often neglected issues on the intersection of gender identity & expression, in the context of sexism and broader intolerance.
Lesbian siblings, you are valid and seen! 🏳️🌈
Since 2008, Lesbian Visibility Day aims to recognize, celebrate, and support all lesbians across the globe.
Happy Lesbian Visibility Day from Queer Safe Spaces! 🧡🤍

This #LesbianVisibilityDay, meet Safiye 👋
When Safiye came out as a lesbian, her family reacted violently.

ALT Safiye was 23 and had been living with her family until they reacted violently when she was told them she was a lesbian. Safiye fled to her girlfriend’s house but, as her girlfriend wasn’t out to her family, It put strain on their relationship and Safiye was asked to leave.
ALT She went to a shelter but experienced homophobic comments from other women there, so she left again and was homeless on the street for a few nights. This was when she contacted Galop.
ALT Safiye’s Galop advocate got her into temporary housing and created a plan to keep Safiye safe. Safiye was supported to get funding for the items she needed after fleeing home.
ALT Her Galop advocate recognised that Safiye was experiencing trauma and continued to support her, while also referring her to local mental health support and specialist therapy. Now, Safiye is enrolled in an arts education program and feels ready to move on.
On #LesbianVisibilityDay we celebrate the diversity of lesbian communities to amplify their voices and experiences, while standing in solidarity with those who continue to face #lesbophobia, misogyny, discrimination and violence #coeSOGIESC

Drag is Magic! ✨
With queerphobia on the rise, it's more important than ever that we platform queer joy: our film, #NotinMyDundee will join Dundee's LGBTQ community to say that transphobia and homophobia have no place here! 🌈

ALT White text on a purple background: It’s no secret that hostility towards queer, especially trans and gender non-conforming, people is on the rise across the world. Last December, in our hometown of Dundee, a Drag Queen Storytime event at the DCA became the target of online abuse and intimidation – a small handful of individuals trying to making queer people feel unsafe.
ALT White text on a purple background: As a queer-led organisation, we want to counter this rise in the best way we know how: creating a piece of queer artwork through dance and film to bring folk together. The film will platform and showcase some of the beautiful queer community in Dundee, and will also be a free resource for schools, community centres and groups to raise awareness of this discrimination and promote empathy.
ALT White text on a purple background: With hate crimes against trans people up by 56% last year, refusing to tolerate this bigotry is more urgent than ever. We know that culture can change minds and lives, and, through this film, we will start the conversations that desperately need to be had. Creative Scotland is supporting the crowdfunding campaign by matching your investment, so please pledge today at the link in our bio — it really means the world. ❤️

Amid what's sure to be great deal of commentary on gender recognition news, today felt like a good time to write a positive story about a transgender Scottish drag queen who is set to showcase her talents on the world stage

New research from @JustLikeUsUK demonstrates exactly what most lesbians already knew: The narrative that lesbians are inherently anti-trans is completely false
