Tarik Skubal (DET) defied conventional injury timelines and returned today, only a month and a half after getting loose bodies removed from his elbow. He allowed two earned runs on five hits across 4.2 innings. He struck out four Guardians.
Joey Cantillo (CLE) pitched backward today, leading with his Curveball and Changeup, while featuring the Cutter as his main fastball. It paid off, yielding only one earned run on six hits across five innings.
Luis Castillo (SEA) was the recipient of some poor fortune: he allowed five runs, though only two were earned. He struck out four Nationals across his 5.2 innings.
