Today, PS @NgogaAristarque chaired a meeting of the National Platform for Disaster Management, a multi-sectoral coordination mechanism that brings together government institutions, UN agencies, civil society organizations and private sector actors to strengthen coordination on disaster risk reduction, preparedness, response and recovery. The meeting focused on reviewing the performance and impacts of the 2026 Itumba Rainy Season (March – April - May), assessing response interventions undertaken, and discussing recovery priorities to support affected communities. Discussions emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration among stakeholders to accelerate recovery efforts, strengthen community resilience and enhance preparedness for future disaster risks through coordinated planning and action.
