For those who say ‘but this is a downtown airport’, at its current scale, serving mainly a central Toronto clientele, 60% of trips to the airport are by car (driver, passenger, taxi, or rideshare). A 5x larger airport will need to draw from farther afield -> higher share by car.

No we haven’t seen a detailed expansion plan. But we do know what an airport with 10 million passengers annually looks like in North America. thestar.com/opinion/star-col… thestar.com/opinion/star-col…

Alas, the doofus' tools will never dismantle the doofus' house. Besides, it's not hard. Just took the time of one patio coffee (reminder: Emily Rose Cafe on Palmerston was sold--today I stopped at its relatively new iteration, Yellow Flower, and had a really lovely time).

We have so many of these houses in Toronto, the 2 floors over low height garage, and they almost always look like garbage (like the one in the photo does).
This is a good picture. It really shows the contrast between eras of housing styles well. The house in the middle shows up on your block, everything else immediately looks old and dated Contrast pictures like this help you understand why people in the past made the choices they did. Why when a modern architecture building appeared in a block of Victorians or Edwardian brick they tore down the latter as quickly as possible. You can see why people believed certain styles were embarrassing

This week, IntegrityTO deputized themselves as Church Cop, suggesting that churches who engage with harm reduction are morally depraved. Which got me thinking: do they really have the religious and moral chops to make that call? WWPLD (what would Pope Leo do)?

Missing middle housing is permitted across much of Toronto. But is it being built everywhere? Our latest article explores where multiplexes and laneway suites are actually being developed, why some neighbourhoods remain largely unchanged, and what this means for housing policy.

surprise, the developers who killed the city's idea for rail-deck park because they were going to deck it themselves, build housing ~ and build a park... have no plans to do that
Reworked plans have been unveiled for what is now called the Toronto Rail Yards, (most previously the 'Rail Deck Development'), a major mixed-use community proposed above the north side of the rail corridor between Bathurst Street and Spadina Avenue. urbantoronto.ca/news/2026/06…

There is a great abandoned historic psychiatric hospital in Poughkeepsie. Classic Kirkbride design (multi wing with central admin). Opened in 1873 and was in use for about a hundred years.

Alright Toronto, you have your orders: film all bike cops riding not following traffic laws to the absolute minute letter.
Our response to @TheBikingLawyer regarding recent media comments about our members’ actions. Regardless of mode of transportation, all road users are required to obey traffic signs and orders from police.
