Something I have never quite got my head around with 2001 is how turnout dropped *12%* but only 21 of the 641 GB seats changed hands. Surely even with all the parties stable, the differential turnout should have created a higher seat churn than that?
It's amazing to think that *this* result is one of the most forgotten UK elections in recent years. A landslide as big as the last and no one talks about it. Labour only lost 7 seats and actually gained one too.
