Something I've learned while in law school is about the social construction of crime. I work in a legal clinic on wage theft cases, where employers have "improperly paid" workers by not paying, paying below min wage, withholding overtime, paid sick time, etc. 1/

As I write the outline for this #darkfantasy novel, I can't help but realize how all my plot and fight scene inspiration, consciously or unconsciously, comes from Avatar the Last Airbender.

Twice this year I've been asked about a question of the format "May you [insert task]?" For example: "May you edit this memo before I send it?" "May you meet with me tomorrow?" I'd never heard this usage before. Are others of you encountering it, and do you know its origins?

Also #editors, specifically #copyeditors, what is the deal with four dots in an #ellipsis? @EdwardSantella has written me this charming note explaining the rules he was taught in the 50s. As a dreaded millennial, I've never seen this usage.
