What I say to new athletes and parents from now on: "I can take you where you need to be. It's going to be challenging. You might hate me at times. And you will be uncomfortable. But all you have to do is show up and work hard and it will pay off."

Weβll sometimes have parents email to ask us to put their 9-year-olds on a program like we would use with our pro athletes. I wish theyβd instead ask what these pro athletes typically did when they were 9: play multiple sports and goof around with their friends.

The girl in lane 8 got @riss_saunders at the finish line with the lean but she still ran a PR of 15.06 and qualified for the finals of the 100m hurdles at the USATF Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships. Her time was 7th fastest of 45 runners.
