Let’s take a look at Jay-Z’s history with the city of Philadelphia… - He signed to Roc-A-Fella Records and gave opportunities to Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Young Gunz, Peedi Crakk, Oschino & Sparks, and State Property as a group. Some of them had very successful rap careers. They’ve released classic albums, iconic songs, tours, movies, clothing, etc. Others chose to side with Dame Dash after the Roc breakup and went on to accomplish absolutely nothing in over 20 years. - Meek Mill was managed by Roc Nation for years and had great success with them. Jay also helped free Meek from incarceration. And they’ve done amazing social work together through the REFORM Alliance over the years. - Along with Budweiser held the Made In America Festival in Philadelphia for 10 years and generated over $150 million in economic impact for the city. Helping boost small businesses and providing opportunities for local talent. - Has served as a mentor to Kevin Hart and has a long working relationship with Will Smith. - Selected Jazmine Sullivan to perform the national anthem at Super Bowl LV. - Has also worked with artists from the city such as Bilal, Santigold, Ms. Jade, and others. - His headlining performance at The Roots Picnic came after the festival faced incredible backlash a year ago due to poor infrastructure. Just a year later, largely due to his appearance, the festival had its most successful showing to date. Jay and Questlove have a long friendship and working relationship which has resulted in Jay working with The Roots on countless occasions. Jay’s relationship with Philadelphia extends far beyond just music and entertainment. He’s also been involved in philanthropic and educational efforts to help the city. So, I believe that it’s safe to say that Jay-Z has done far more for Philadelphia than most rappers from the city.
The State Property reject didn't get attention for that track, now he's pivoted to being mad that the festival CURATED BY THE ROOTS, approved by the local Philly government, 'let' Jay perform. The rap career revival isn't working, him & the Teeth Tumbler need a job.😬

Exactly. This could be the best post of the summer. ☀️‼️
Jay Z is the only rap OG that wouldn't have been anybody if Pac & Big were alive. The question then becomes, the other rappers like Nas, LL Cool J, Snoop etc that were hot when Pac & Big were alive, what did they become? Why couldn't they stop Jay Z from becoming him?

After Hov’s Roots Picnic Freestyle, his verse on “Light Up” has aged even better. “Y'all can miss me with the money talk, The smart money's on Hov', fuck what the dummies talk, I don't do too much bloggin', I just run the town, I don't do too much joggin', Mm, I ain't got a scar yet, 'Cause you fuckin' around with me and my dogs is far-fetched, Drake, here's how they gon' come at you, With silly rap feuds, tryin' to distract you, In disguise, in the form of a favor, The Barzini meeting, watch for the traitors, I done seen it all, done it all, That's why none of these dum-dums could done him off,”

I’ve seen Jay-Z perform multiple times in my life but his Roots Picnic performance felt so different. I’m honored that I had the opportunity to document this moment. 🎥 by me/BFTV Studios with additional footage by Roc Nation @LiveNationUrban x @rootspicnic 💙

Aight we on Day 4, its time to wrap this Jay-Z topic up. If you don't like him, don't listen to him. If you feel you rap better, get in the booth. If he snaked you, sue him. If he not influential, stop talking abt him. If you made him, make another one. 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

Where do I even begin?! I guess I’ll start with the most important line… “A rapper can't be my opp. I got MAGA Republicans Them shots came from the VERY TOP of the GOVERNMENT” Ever since that NFL partnership, not a single day goes by without a new disgusting narrative being pushed about Jay-Z. And it all culminated with the Buzbee case. None of this is coincidental. Drake, Nicki, 50, Akademiks, Jaguar Wright, Buzbee, etc. are just pawns. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you can clearly tell that this is a coordinated attempt to bring Jay down. For YEARS they’ve lied on him, tried to discredit him, and destroy his character and reputation. He sat back and took all the hits. But he told you MFs that he’s had enough. “2026 IS ALL OFFENSE!!” I don’t wanna hear shit from anyone. You can save all the bitching. You asked for this. No matter what they’ve put on him, they couldn’t take him down. They’ve all failed. Now they gotta deal with him. With just ONE VERSE he shook everybody up. Trump, Buzbee, Dame, Drake, Nicki, Kanye, Jaguar, Oschino, etc. all addressed with ease. Fucking surgical. His first live show in ages and he didn’t miss a single step. A fucking immaculate set. Running through classics without breaking a sweat. Incredible breath control. Stage presence. A masterclass performance the likes of which only he can do. A quick reminder of why he’s the greatest to ever to this and there isn’t a close second. And he’s just getting started.
