We gathered in solidarity as OPP Constable Tarun Bali of the Dufferin County Detachment was escorted in a solemn procession from the Forensic Services and Coroner's Complex to Thornhill. Members lined the route, standing shoulder to shoulder as a powerful tribute to Cst. Bali. His selfless service, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to protecting our province will never be forgotten. #HeroesInLife

We are heartbroken to share the sudden passing of Glen Sonier, a devoted member of the @SudburyPolice. Glen has dedicated his life to serving the policing community since 1993 and, in 2023, received the PAO’s Police Services Hero of the Year Award for On-Duty Difference Maker in the civilian category, in recognition of his exceptional selflessness and commitment. His legacy of compassion will continue to inspire us all. Our deepest condolences go out to Glen’s loved ones, the Sudbury Police Association (SPA), and everyone at the Greater Sudbury Police Service. As we mourn this tremendous loss, let’s support each other and keep Glen’s memory alive through kindness and service.

It was a privilege to join government officials and member association leaders at @RunnymedeHC’s Annual General Meeting! It was a valuable opportunity to connect with partners from across the province to recognize the establishment of the Post-Traumatic Stress Injury Centre of Excellence and the important role it will play in supporting the well-being of our members.

On behalf of the @HRPAssoc and its members, we extend our deepest sympathy to the family, friends, and colleagues of Cst. Marc Pinizzotto who was killed in the line of duty today. #heroinlifenotdeath
A statement from President @TPACampbell: It is with heartbreaking sadness today that we confirm the line-of-duty death of @TorontoPolice Constable Marc Pinizzotto. A valued member of our elite Emergency Task Force, our brave brother was fatally shot early this morning during a high-risk takedown. The TPA has been on site all morning with Chief Demkiw and other members of the TPS, supporting Marc’s devastated family and colleagues. Details of how this tragic incident unfolded, as well as any arrangements, will be available in the coming days. In the meantime, I want to ask everyone for their support. When most people were safely at home in bed, this officer left his family to make this city safer. Our members put their lives on the line every day. It is a devastating tragedy that Marc did not return home to his family today.
