Helping to improve the delivery of police services through national leadership, public debate of criminal justice issues, and research and policy development.
From AI debates to national security discussions and major event planning for the World Cup and Olympics, this meeting marked 50 years of PERF’s impact on policing.
I’m looking forward to attending PERF’s 50th Anniversary in Los Angeles. I am proud to have been a member for 48 of those 50 years, and was privileged to attend the second SMIP program in 1980, been a guest presenter at SMIP for over 20 years, and was honored to serve twice as its President with Chuck Wexler — who’s extraordinary leadership has moved the organization forward so successfully in good times and bad.
Chuck’s wonderful summary clearly shows why I am so proud of the organization and its unparalleled contributions to the police profession.

An insightful and informative remembrance of FBI Director Robert Mueller by PERF Executive Director Chuck Wexler. At this critical time we need more leaders like Bob Mueller to address the paucity of leadership that we now have at so many agencies.

A great summary of the history of PERF and many of its accomplishments and activities. I have been privileged during my career to have met and engaged with the majority of police leaders who Chuck Wexler mentioned in the article. I’m looking forward to attending the 50th anniversary meeting in Los Angeles.
