SLP, Immigration and ACC personnel, with support from EU and INTERPOL, commenced 5 days training in Ftn. on Data Quality Management System under the West Africa Police Information System (WAPIS) prog. for S/L. Personnel will be trained on how to collect, store, and share data.

The UN Resident Coordinator - Dr. Babatunde Ahonsi and team paid a courtesy visit to the IGP on 06/09/22. He commiserated with the IGP, following the demise of 6 P/Officers on 10/08/22. He raised some issues with the IGP which he adequately responded to. More engagements planned.

UNDP & UNICEF today (2/9/22), engaged the SLP, to discuss their approved project: promote the creation of an enabling environment for the conduct of peaceful elections and strengthening of social cohesion in SL. The aim of the project is to minimise tensions and prevent conflict

Civil Society Orgs. led by King Kapr Thallay Bah/Road Safety Watch, today (1/9/22), paid a courtesy call on the IGP, to commiserate with him following the killings of six P/Offrs. on 10/8/22. They pledged to work with the SLP on fighting crime and other security-related issues.

Following his appointment by H.E the President and subsequent approval by Parliament, Mr. William F. Sellu has taken the oath of office today (22/08/22) @ State House as IGP. He pledged to execute his duty with diligence and to restore confidence in the SLP.

The Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) Young Generation Executive paid a courtesy call on the IGP on Wednesday 17/08/22, at his George Street office, in Freetown. They congratulated him on his appointment and pledged to work with him in the area of fighting youth crime in society.

UNICEF on Tuesday (16/08/22) donated two brand new ves to the Family Support Unit (FSU) of the SLP. Receiving the ves, on behalf of the SLP, the IGP - Mr. William Fayia Sellu thanked UNICEF for the gesture and promised that both vehicles will be used for their intended purpose.

The nationwide curfew declared in S/L now stands as follows: 10/08/22 - 3pm to 7 am. Every other day - 7pm to 7am. Prs. on essential services such as EDSA, EGTC, radio and TV stations, telecoms, etc, can move around during the period of the curfew, if they possess valid ID cards.

Following his appointment as Inspector General of the SLP on Wednesday 27/7/22, Mr. William Fayia Sellu has today (4/8/22) been approved by the Parlmt. of SL into office. This was predicated on his excellent showing during interview sessions with the Committe on Appointments.

His Excellency the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone - Brigadier Retd. Dr. Julius Maada Bio has appointed Mr. William Fayia Sellu as the new Inspector General of the Sierra Leone Police. Before his appointment, he was the Director of Crime Services. Congratulations, Sir.

The suspicious 40ft container opened and completely offloaded. There was no trace of arms and/or ammunition nor there were any contraband goods or anything of security concerns/interests. All done in the full view of the media, civ. soc., IGP, ONS and other interested parties.

Following intelligence tip off, the SLP alerted NRA of a suspicious 40ft container and demanded for it. The container in question is in the custody of the Police, since 22/07/22. It will be opened 2moro (25/7/22), in the full view of the media. See attached letter sent to the NRA
