Today has been MASSIVE for our coins.
While CLARITY Act did NOT become law today.
It did something more important for markets: it became politically ~REAL~ and now has an 80% chance of becoming law this year
A 15-9 Senate Banking vote. Every Republican. Two Democrats. No amendments adopted. The 309-page May 12 text survived intact.
This bill gives CLEAR rules:
- CFTC for mature digital commodities.
- SEC disclosure path for earlier-stage assets.
- Safe harbors for non-custodial DeFi.
- AML rules for intermediaries.
- Self-custody protected.
The big hurdle now is that it still needs 60 Senate votes but should slide through the house without much pushback.
Let's be honest, we barely give a shit about any of that... The real question is
