"I am well aware of the Toil and Blood and Treasure, that it will cost Us to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States. - Yet through all the Gloom I can see the Rays of ravishing Light and Glory." -- John Adams, July 3 , 1776.
In NJ12 primary, I got 10 (!!!) mailers from the dark money Florence Avenue Initiative - more than 2x I got for any single candidate (and I can’t rule out getting more on Mon). I can only conclude that someone there has a disturbing Sue Altman fetish.
The most I got actually supporting a candidate was 4 from Sam Wang’s campaign and 4 from PACs for Adam Hamawy - 3 from Justice Democrats and 1 from American Priorities.
Among the four Dems vying to take on Rep. Kean in NJ7, Bennett has built a clear lead among likely primary voters... when “leaners” are taken into account, Bennett’s vote share grows to 36%, compared to 20% for Varela, 19% for Shah and 19% for Roth.insidernj.com/insider-nj-sti…
By law, a new pro-Brad Cohen PAC called Voice of the Electorate can’t coordinate with Cohen himself when making its ads.
The PAC’s solution: use AI to generate a deepfake Brad Cohen and let *him* do the talking.

Interesting #SOTU dial group. Trump gained a few points on most issues (expected temp. bump) but he went up a lot for his "Great Healthcare Plan" to divert money from insurers to people. Of course, this won't happen, but Democrats should be alert to power of this rhetoric.
ALT One of the biggest improvements participants noted in the pre- and post-speech measurements was Trump’s handling of health care - from 18% confident to 41% confident. This is, in part, due to Republican lawmakers’ poor standing on health care. In a national survey Navigator conducted earlier this month, Democrats in Congress hold a 16-point advantage over their Republican counterparts when asked who respondents trust more on health care.
ALT The arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor underscores a striking contrast between the United Kingdom and the United States in the official response to the Epstein files. British authorities have moved aggressively to investigate the possibility of crimes emerging from the three million pages of correspondence with Mr. Epstein. In the U.S., some business executives have resigned, but police have not take action like they have in Britain.
Saw Jesse Jackson in Feb. 1984 at my Pennsylvania college. He packed the gym and got a good reception at our conservative campus. [Although he got my Jersey hackles up when he told us NJ students to register in PA because our home state didn't matter - at least in the primaries.]
Pouring one out for The Reverend Jesse Jackson. A giant and a champion for civil rights and equality.
But can anyone read Green Eggs and Ham better? No.
I don’t know who needs to hear Jesse Jackson leading the kids on Sesame Street in this beautiful call-and-response reminding them that every child is somebody, but here it is
I remain surprised by how many folks did not see this coming. The data on the mood of Dem voters is there -- if you interpret it correctly.

As the result in #NJ11 is becoming clear, attention turns to #NJ12, where the Dem primary is the de facto election. First big forum is CAIR today. First questions have been about ICE (nearly all say Abolish) and affordability. Haven’t gotten to the Gaza question yet.
