I'm not proud of this, but I slip into a sort of pretentious "higher" register when my thoughts are feeling particularly thin; hoping that more and better words might make what's empty feel full again; which words can and often do, to be fair, but mostly by means of hot air!

I keep running across accounts that have me blocked for some reason or another, but I don't know why. Relatively inoffensive, don't spam replies (is this an eye of the beholder thing?), and I'm not on any Lists, so what gives? Perhaps an optional feedback window when you block?

Note the passive construction above: these people "have me blocked for some reason . . ." That's intentional. I find it preeeetty hard to believe that anyone would *actively* choose to block me. 🤓🙏

Metaphor is such an essential feature of Christ's teachings that He could not part with it, and any activity which increases a man's facility with metaphor is John the Baptist in the way it paves the way for Christ's teachings.

Nothing in the old testament, with its endless plagues and floods is as terrifying as Christ asking Peter, “Do you love me?” after the betrayal.
